No more people have been found in the sea since 14 survivors and two bodies were found last weekend, the official said. Lloyd M. Fikiasi, deputy commissioner of the Vanuatu Maritime Safety Authority, told the AP that the MV Matui sank on September 11. The boat was sailing between Santo and Ambay islands carrying 53 people.

Officials said this week that the sinking of the boat was not reported for a whole day and the exact number of people aboard was not clear for several days. Fikiasi said some of the people who were previously reported missing had not actually boarded the boat.
