A major accident took place on Wednesday in Navgachia of Bhagalpur district of Bihar. A boat full of laborers suddenly capsized in the Ganga river near Raghopur. According to reports, a total of 21 laborers were on the boat when the accident occurred. All the workers were putting sand bags on the banks of river Ganga to stop water erosion. After this accident, 19 laborers were taken out safely, while two laborers are still missing. Rescue operation is going on in search of him.
According to the information, this accident happened near Raghopur of Kharik block of Navgachia police district. Here, workers were working to stop erosion on the banks amidst the strong flow of Ganga. Meanwhile, the boat lost its balance and overturned in the strong current of Ganga. During this time all the workers also fell into the water.

As soon as the boat overturned, all the laborers on board fell into the river and many laborers saved their lives by swimming. As soon as information about the accident was received, the administration and police team reached the spot. The SDRF team also immediately started the rescue operation and evacuated 19 laborers safely. At the same time, two laborers have not been found yet and an operation is being conducted in the river to search for them.
What did the DM tell?
After this accident, DM Alankrita Pandey also reached the spot. He said, 'There were 21 people on the boat. The SDRF team deployed at the spot has successfully evacuated 19 people safely. Two people are currently missing and the SDRF team is searching for them. Talking about the cause of the accident, he said that it seems that the boat overturned due to the formation of a whirlpool in the river.

accident due to negligence
No one on the boat was wearing a life jacket during this accident. DM Alankrita Pandey said, 'Despite the instructions given earlier, there was negligence in wearing life jackets. FIR will be registered against the vendors in this case. The responsibility of ensuring compliance with the rules was of contractors named Sikandar Mandal and Badal Mandal. The work done through boats has been stopped for the time being. Now the security and safety work will be continued through tractors.
