Mumbai, 24 July. The Bombay High Court has designated two special fast track courts at Aurangabad and Nagpur for speedy disposal of cases related to paper leaks, examination fraud and other irregularities in public examinations. These courts will hear cases registered under the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024, as well as cases registered under the relevant provisions of the Indian Judicial Code (BNS), 2023 and the Maharashtra University, Board and Other Specified Examinations Prevention of Malpractices Act, 1982.
Decision taken on the request of the Central Government
The acting Chief Justice of Bombay High Court took this decision following the letter dated July 23, 2026 of the Union Ministry of Law and Justice. The Ministry had requested to designate dedicated fast track courts for speedy disposal of examination malpractice cases.
Special courts designated in Aurangabad and Nagpur
As per the order issued by the Registrar (Inspection-1) of the High Court, S.V. for Aurangabad Judicial District. The court of Pawar, 10th Joint Civil Judge (Senior Division) and Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate has been made a special fast track court. Whereas, Gulshan R for Nagpur judicial district. Kolte, the court of 7th Joint Civil Judge (Senior Level) and Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate has been designated for the purpose.
Instructions for immediate transfer of pending cases
The High Court has directed the Principal District and Sessions Judges of Aurangabad and Nagpur to formally notify the concerned special courts. Also, it has been asked to immediately transfer all the pending cases falling under their jurisdiction to these courts and send the compliance report to the High Court.
Transparency and credibility of the examination system will be strengthened
The purpose of setting up special fast track courts is to ensure speedy disposal of cases related to paper leaks, examination fraud and use of unfair means in public examinations. This will help in strengthening transparency, fairness and credibility in the examination system and ensure speedy justice in such cases.
