Brazil Road Accident : Continuous serious road accidents in Brazil have increased the concern of the people. Recently, 23 people died on the spot in a horrific road accident in Parana state. Apart from this, many people also lost their lives in different road accidents. In the accident in Parana, a mini bus carrying patients and medical staff to the hospital collided with a truck coming from the front. The accident occurred on the BR-373 highway near the city of Ipiranga, near Curitiba. 23 people including the truck driver died in the accident. Five seriously injured people were admitted to the local hospital, out of which the condition of three is said to be very critical. Paraná Governor Ratinho Jr. expressed deep sorrow over the incident and declared three days of official mourning in the state.
Brazil Road Accident: Tourist bus overturns near Rio de Janeiro
Ten people were killed when a tourist bus overturned near Petrópolis in the mountainous region north of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The dead included nine women and a child. After the accident, the relief and rescue team reached the spot and started action and evacuated 49 people safely. This accident has increased the concern regarding road safety in the area.

Frequent road accidents in Brazil
Many major road accidents have already occurred in Brazil. In February, 16 people were killed in a bus crash during a religious festival, while 17 people lost their lives in another accident in Pernambuco. According to a World Bank report, more than 34,000 people die in road accidents in Brazil every year. Speeding, drunk driving and use of mobile phone while driving are the major causes of road accidents.
