New Delhi: India’s capital Delhi will be seen as a major center of global diplomacy today. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin will be seen on one stage with the beginning of the 18th BRICS summit. In the conference to be held in Bharat Mandapam, leaders of countries representing a large population of the world will discuss important issues in a closed room. A dinner will also be organized late in the evening hosted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
World’s eyes on Modi-Jinping meeting
During the BRICS conference, important developments will also be seen in terms of relations between India and China. A bilateral meeting is proposed between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping. Xi Jinping’s visit to India after nearly seven years is being considered important for the relations between the two countries.
In the meeting, the direction of improving India-China relations, reducing tension and restoring mutual trust can be discussed. Along with deciding the direction of future bilateral relations, both the leaders can also consider measures to reduce the trade deficit.
China’s Ambassador to India Xu Feihong told reporters that arrangements are being made for a bilateral meeting between the two leaders. He said this would be the third consecutive year when the two leaders would meet each other, after the meetings in Kazan and Tianjin.
