Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes and Manchester City striker Khadija Shaw were named as men’s and women’s Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA) Player of the Year respectively on Tuesday.
Manchester United captain Fernandes record nine goals and a record-breaking 21 assists last season to help his side finish third in the top-flight. He is the second Portuguese player to win the award after Cristiano Ronaldo.

Jamaican striker Shaw won the award for the second time, having previously won it in 2024, after she recorded 21 goals for City last year.
Manchester City left-back Nico O’Reilly — who featured prominently for England at the FIFA World Cup 2026 — won the Young Player of the Year award, while Arsenal’s 22-year-old striker Olivia Smith won the Women’s Young Player of the Year for the second time in a row.
There were five players from Premier League champion Arsenal named in the team of the year.
