There is a plan to connect many big cities of Uttar Pradesh in the Delhi-Varanasi High-Speed ​​Rail Corridor proposed by the Central Government.

After the completion of this project, there is expected to be considerable saving of time in long distance journeys. While at present it takes several hours to reach Lucknow and Varanasi from Delhi, after the introduction of high-speed trains, this journey can be completed in a much less time.

Which cities will get the benefit?

There are preparations to connect important cities like Jewar area of ​​Noida, Agra, Lucknow, Prayagraj and Varanasi in the proposed Bullet Train Corridor. According to estimates, the distance from Delhi to Lucknow is expected to be completed in about 2 hours and the journey from Delhi to Varanasi is expected to be completed in about 4 hours. At the same time, the travel time between Prayagraj to Lucknow and Varanasi can also be significantly reduced.

Preparations intensified regarding the station in Prayagraj

Preparations for the Bullet Train project have also started in Prayagraj. Issues like station location, passenger amenities and connectivity have been discussed in the meetings held with officials. Several possible locations are being considered to build the station in Prayagraj. These include Neebi Khurd, Shantipuram, Prayag station area and areas around the parade ground or airport.

The corridor can pass through many districts

The length of Delhi-Varanasi high-speed rail corridor is proposed to be about 865 kilometers. This project can pass through many districts of Uttar Pradesh. For this, land may be required in areas like Mathura, Agra, Etawah, Lucknow, Rae Bareli, Prayagraj, Bhadohi and Varanasi. In land related matters, it is being said that the process will be completed as per the prescribed rules.
