Butterfly TTSL Maharashtra 2026: Sanil Shetty’s Phantom Stars become champion, defeating Bayside Spinners 14-8

Mumbai, Mumbai: Led by Commonwealth Games medalist Sanil Shetty, Phantom Stars retained their Butterfly Table Tennis Super League Maharashtra 2026 title by defeating Bayside Spinners TTC 14-8 in the grand final at the Khar Gymkhana on Sunday. According to a release, Shetty defeated National Games 2025 winner Jash Modi 3-0 in the men’s singles match, and later partnered Shruti Amrute for another crucial win in the mixed doubles.

Thanks to other key wins, Phantom Stars—co-owned by Rajesh Jaggi, vice president of Everstone Group, and Antara Jaggi, founder of ReRooted and a former TT player herself—clinched the victory with one match to spare. Now in its second season, TTSL is an initiative of 11 Sports Pvt Ltd—organizers of India’s premier TT competition, Butterfly Ultimate Table Tennis (UTT)—which aims to strengthen grassroots talent development and promote state-level competitions across the country. Butterfly TTSL Maharashtra 2026 saw eight teams vie for the title with a total prize pool of Rs 7.25 lakh, of which Rs 3,50,000 was for the champions.

Earlier in the day, eventual champions Phantom Stars defeated Mumbai Mozart 14-11 in a thrilling semi-final, with veteran player Omkar Jog sealing the win in the ninth match of the tie. Bayside Spinners, on the other hand, booked their first place in the final with an emphatic 14-8 win over Century Warriors; The victory came courtesy of crucial 3-0 match wins by Senhora D’Souza and Parth Magar in the senior women’s and junior boys’ categories respectively.

D’Souza then gave the Spinners a great start in the final, defeating Amrute to give his team a 2–1 lead in the first match; But then Shetty came back for Phantom Stars to complete a 3-0 clean sweep. Jog, partnering with Ayaan Athar in the experienced men’s and under-13 boys’ doubles event, delivered another one-sided win for the defending champions in Match 4, putting them in the lead. Anisha Patra and Shetty-Amrite’s 2-1 double took Phantom Stars closer to victory, which Patra sealed in the penultimate match of the match by pairing with Kaustubh Girgaonkar.

For her stellar performances throughout the tournament, Shetty received the ‘Best Male Player’ (Overall) award, while Butterfly UTT-bound Divyanshi Bhowmik was named the ‘Best Female Player’ (Overall). The Century Warriors also dominated other individual honors, with Raghav Mahajan (U-13 boys), Naisha Rewaskar (U-17 girls), and veteran Santosh Vakradkar topping their respective categories.

Beside spinners TTC, who reached the finals, also made a strong impression, with Parth Magar (U-17 Boys) and Senhora D’Souza (Women Senior) performing well. Completing the list of awards, Jolly Friends Sports Club’s Regan Albuquerque took home the ‘Men’s Senior’ category honor after his impressive performance.
