On Tuesday, under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, the Cabinet gave financial approval of about Rs 2 thousand 480 crore to speed up the development and expansion of infrastructure in the state. Approval of Rs 595 crore was given for the scheme related to establishment of IT park in the state. Under this scheme, IT parks have been established in Indore, Bhopal, Jabalpur and Gwalior. Establishment of IT Park and IT Towers will develop modern technical infrastructure in the state, which will attract investors from India and abroad and encourage investment and industrial activities. This will provide skill based employment and self employment to more than 8000 local youth. Till now about 22 thousand youth have got employment.
The Cabinet has approved giving Rs 17 crore 90 lakh out of Rs 85 crore 51 lakh for the next 3 years for the establishment of a Center of Excellence based on drone technology in the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, Bhopal. Approval of Rs 110 crore was also given for assistance scheme to MPSEDC and other institutions for new technology.
Approval of Rs 40 crore 20 lakh has been given for Madhya Pradesh State Spatial Data Infrastructure Scheme and Rs 26 crore 50 lakh has been approved for the supply and management of cloud services. The Cabinet approved Rs 857 crore 21 lakh for continuing various schemes of the Department of Science and Technology for the period of Sixteenth Central Finance Commission from 1 April 2026 to 31 March 2031, including Rs 85 crore 51 lakh for the establishment of a Center of Excellence based on drone technology in Isar.
Approval of Rs 982 crore for employee welfare
The Cabinet has approved Rs 982 crore 49 lakh for continuing the 16th Central Finance Commission period of employee welfare, pension, provident fund and insurance schemes till March 2031. With this, the Directorate of Pension, Provident Fund and Insurance Schemes, Pension and Employees Welfare Directorate, District Pension Office, maintenance of departmental assets, Pensioner Welfare Fund, interest on Government Servants Family Welfare Fund, Government Employees Group Insurance Scheme, Government Employees Co-Group Insurance Scheme will be operated.

Rs 111 crore for Singrauli’s Rihand Micro Irrigation Project
The Cabinet has approved Rs 111 crore 4 lakh for continuing the Rihand Micro Irrigation Project of Singrauli for the period of Sixteenth Central Finance Commission from April 1, 2026 to March 31, 2031. The main objective of the project is to provide water for irrigation in 38 thousand hectare area in 119 villages of Singrauli, Mada, Baidhan and Javad tehsils through micro irrigation system by lifting the stored water from Govind Vallabh Pant Sagar Reservoir (located on Rihand River).
The Cabinet has approved Rs 184 crore 20 lakh for continuing the Malhargarh Pressurized Large Lift Irrigation Project of Mandsaur from the period of Sixteenth Central Finance Commission from 1 April 2026 to 31 March 2031.
The Women’s Asian Hockey Champions Trophy 2026 is scheduled to be held in Bhopal in October 2026. There is a probable expenditure of Rs 18 crore 74 lakh on this. This event is proposed in the International Sports Complex of Bhopal. In-principle consent was given for the expenditure to be incurred. Hockey India has been authorized by the International Hockey Federation to conduct, promote and organize hockey games in the country and to organize international and national hockey competitions. The competition is being organized continuously at an interval of 2 years since 2010.
The main objective of organizing this competition is to showcase the talent of Asian women’s hockey teams at the global level. About 200 players and support staff from the six leading women’s teams of Asia (India, China, Japan, Malaysia, South Korea, and Thailand) are likely to participate in the Women’s Asian Hockey Champions Trophy 2026. This international competition will be jointly organized by Hockey India and the Department of Sports and Youth Welfare. As per the contract, Hockey India will be given Rs 11 crore by the Sports and Youth Welfare Department for pageant partner rights. Rs 7 crore 74 lakh will be spent by the department for other necessary arrangements.
Electrical Safety Inspectorate in Gwalior
The Cabinet approved new circle office and 9 new posts of Electrical Safety Inspectorate in Gwalior. The Energy Department will take action regarding creation of the post. By starting new circle offices in Gwalior, Bamaur industrial area of Morena and Malanpur industrial area of Bhind are to be benefited. In future, a 600 MW battery storage solar power plant is to be established in Morena. For this also a new circle office is to be established in Gwalior. The Cabinet has approved the creation of 9 new posts including one new post of District and Additional Sessions Judge at Narayangarh in Mandsaur.
Approval of Rs 129 crore for Academy of Administration
The Cabinet approved Rs 129 crore 12 lakh to continue the sixteenth Central Finance Commission period of the schemes related to the activities of Madhya Pradesh RCVP Noronha Administration and Management Academy till March 31, 2031. This budget will cover the establishment and office expenses of the Academy, Mission Karmayogi, maintenance and administration of departmental assets, creation of physical facilities for training activities in the Academy campus.
Approval of Rs 198 crore for Shakti Sadan and Sakhi Niwas
The Cabinet has approved Rs 198 crore 59 lakh for the continuous implementation of Sankalp-Hub for Empowerment of Women, Shakti Sadan and Sakhi Niwas Yojana from the year 2026-27 to 2030-31 under Mission Shakti-Sub-Plan Sakthi. Sankalp -Hub for Empowerment of Women scheme aims to act as a unit at the district level to provide awareness as well as access to women about schemes and policies for their welfare and empowerment. This scheme was already operated in all 52 districts and now it will be operated in 3 newly formed districts. The objective of Shakti Sadan is to create a safe and enabling environment for women and to give them a new beginning by rescuing women trapped in trafficking and distress from difficult situations. At present 14 Shakti Sadans are operated through non-government organizations in the state. 5 new Shakti Sadans have been approved by the Government of India. Sakhi Niwas Yojana has been implemented to provide convenient and safe housing to urban/rural working women. Earlier the name of this scheme was Mahila Vishramalaya. Working women of all classes are given admission in Sakhi Niwas. There is also a provision for running a day-care center for the small children of the female employees in Sakhi Niwas. There are 3 government Sakhi Nivas operating in the state.
Bonus to farmers on procurement at support price
The Cabinet has approved the continuous operation of bonus payment on earnings to farmers on support price under the scheme of more than Rs 500 crore under the Food Department during the period of 16th Central Finance Commission from 1 April 2026 to 31 March 2031. The Cabinet has approved amendment in Madhya Pradesh Legal Metrology Rules, 2011. This amendment has been made with the aim of effectively implementing the amendments made in the Legal Metrology Act, 2009 by the Government of India through the Public Trust (Amendment of Provisions) Act, 2026 in the state, ensuring compliance with the recommendations made under Compromise Reduction and Deregulation and revising the verification fees of weighing instruments.
