California Chico Library Shooting News In Hindi: A heart-wrenching incident has come to light from Chico city in Northern California, America. The indiscriminate firing that took place in a public library on Monday evening has shocked the entire community. In this tragic attack, two innocent civilians lost their lives, while a girl sustained minor injuries.

The police took immediate action and detained the 18-year-old suspected attacker while he was fleeing the scene, revealing shocking revelations about his intentions.

Chaos in the library in the evening

According to the Chico Police Department, the horrific incident happened at the Chico branch of the Butte County Library on Monday, June 22, 2026, around 5 p.m. The attacker entered the library and suddenly started firing bullets, causing panic among the people present there.

The suspect was caught by law enforcement officers as he ran out the back door of the library, Police Chief Billy Aldridge told a news conference. The shooter has been identified as Bradley Scott Sawyer, who is currently being held in the Butte County Jail on two counts of murder.

The conspiracy was hatched on the lines of the Columbine massacre

Investigators have revealed that Sawyer was deeply influenced by the infamous Columbine High School massacre of 1999 for this attack. According to the police, he wanted to carry out a major mass murder on the same lines. The shocking thing is that at the time of the attack, Sawyer was wearing the same outfit as Columbine killer Eric Harris.

Authorities also believe he was involved in an online ‘fandom group’ of mass murderers. He may be linked to a terrorist organization, which has been linked to several shooting incidents in the past. Police say that due to his obsession, Sawyer was alone in committing this heinous crime.

The victims killed in the shooting have been identified as 74-year-old Robert Johnson and 46-year-old Cody Hull. Robert Johnson died at the scene, while Cody Hull died after being taken to the hospital. Cody Hull had come to the library with his friend’s daughter, who was injured by shards of glass during the attack.

However, the girl has been discharged from the hospital after first aid. Police clarified that the attacker did not know the victims personally and had fired indiscriminately at people present in the library.

A total of eight rounds were fired

Police have recovered a shotgun from the scene, while two other deadly weapons have also been recovered from the attacker’s car. During investigation, it was found that the attacker had fired a total of eight rounds. Following this incident, all library branches in Butte County have been closed as a precaution.

Chico Police are currently working with the FBI and the local Sheriff’s Office to conduct a thorough investigation of this case. Police officials have assured the public that there is no longer any threat, but the investigation is still ongoing.
