ATM Charges: There has been a change in the rules related to ATM for Canara Bank customers. This public sector bank has revised the charges for some ATM transactions and related services from September 1, 2026. Free ATM transaction limit reduced from 6 to 5
Canara Bank has reduced the number of free ATM transactions available in a month for savings account customers from 6 to 5. This limit includes both financial and non-financial transactions. This means that within the prescribed free limit, customers can use ATM related services without any additional charges. But after completion of five free transactions, the bank's revised charges will be applicable on additional transactions.
relief to senior citizens
The limit of free ATM transactions for senior citizens remains at 8 transactions per month. The bank has not made any change in the limit of customers of this category. Therefore, the existing arrangement in terms of free ATM related transactions for senior citizens will continue. The most significant change in the new rates is related to additional cash withdrawals.
Withdrawal of cash from Canara Bank ATM after completion of free limit will now be charged ₹23 + GST per transaction. Earlier this fee was ₹20 + GST. That means, for additional cash withdrawal, customers will have to pay more than before. As per the details given, the scope of this fee also includes cash withdrawal from ATM through UPI.
Charges on non-financial transactions also
Charges will be applicable not only on cash withdrawal but also on non-financial ATM transactions exceeding the free limit. For such additional transactions the customer will be charged ₹5 + GST per transaction. Non-financial services may generally include ATM services such as balance checks, mini statements etc. However, it is important to check the bank's official fee list to know the charges applicable for a particular service.
Canara Bank has also increased the charges for ATM transactions failing due to low balance. If the ATM transaction fails due to insufficient funds in the customer's account, a fee of ₹23 + GST will now be charged. It has been informed that this fee will be applicable on related transactions done at ATMs of Canara Bank and other banks.
Earlier the fee for such failed transactions was ₹17 + GST. Therefore, it is important for customers to ensure sufficient balance in the account before withdrawing cash from ATM or availing other financial services.
Re-generating Green PIN becomes cheaper

Canara Bank has reduced the fee for re-generating Green PIN after free limit in some card variants from ₹23 to ₹5.
