With the aim of conducting the upcoming Eid-e-Milad (Baravfat) and Rakshabandhan and Janmashtami festivals in a safe, peaceful and harmonious environment, a meeting of the District Level Peace Committee was organized under the chairmanship of District Magistrate Charchal Gaur. In the meeting, preparations for the festivals and necessary arrangements were discussed in detail with religious leaders of different religions, members of the Peace Committee, distinguished citizens and officials of the concerned departments.
The District Magistrate said that festivals are a symbol of our shared culture and social unity. Sonbhadra has a rich tradition of mutual brotherhood and harmony and it is the collective responsibility of all of us to maintain it. While interacting with all the religious leaders and distinguished citizens, he appealed to celebrate the festivals in the traditional manner with peace, restraint and gaiety and to give the message of brotherhood in the society.
While discussing the preparations for the procession and religious programs to be organized on the occasion of Eid-e-Milad, the District Magistrate directed the concerned officers to ensure cleanliness of the procession routes, drinking water, electricity and lighting, traffic management and other necessary facilities in a timely manner. He said that all the concerned departments should discharge their responsibilities with better coordination, so that the general public does not face any inconvenience during the festival.
The District Magistrate also appealed to be especially careful while using social media. He said that do not believe any unconfirmed information or rumor and avoid sharing misleading or objectionable content. Immediately provide information to the administration about any problem or information that is likely to affect peace and harmony.
The religious leaders and distinguished citizens present in the meeting also put forward their suggestions and assured full cooperation in completing the festivals safely while maintaining the tradition of peace, harmony and mutual brotherhood in the district.
While wishing the people of the district for the upcoming festivals, District Magistrate Charchal Gaur said, “Our diversity is our social strength. Respecting each other's faith and feelings, celebrate the festivals together and further strengthen Sonbhadra's identity of peace, harmony and brotherhood.”
