On the request of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, the Central Government has assured action on the proposals regarding approving important road projects of the state as spurs (subsidiary branch routes) of National Highways. Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari has informed CM Pushkar Singh Dhami that the proposals sent by the state government have been sent to the concerned authorities for consideration and necessary examination.

It is known that as per the request sent by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on July 24, 2026, NTD from the shrink band. Approval of about 1 kilometer motor road including tunnel up to (Almora) as spur of National Highway-309B, connecting Seraghat-Badechhina Motorway (45 kilometers) to the National Highway network, connecting Marchula-Bhikiyasain Motorway (72 kilometers) to the National Highway network and Kalsi-Chakrata Motorway (44 kilometers) as a spur of National Highway-707A and 507. A request for this was made to the Union Road and Transport Minister. The Union Minister has clarified in his letter that all the above proposals have been sent to the concerned authorities for examination and consideration.
Decision on proposals will be taken soon
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that the objective of the state government is to provide better road connectivity to the hilly and border areas and to give new impetus to regional development, tourism, trade and local economy by connecting them to the national highway network. He expressed confidence that with the positive cooperation of the Central Government, a decision on these proposals will be taken soon and the road infrastructure of the state can be further strengthened. The Chief Minister expressed his gratitude to Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari for adopting a sensitive approach towards the development needs of Uttarakhand and taking prompt action on the proposals.
