Uttarakhand Politics: A very shocking political picture has emerged from Chamoli district amidst the peaceful valleys of Uttarakhand. Usually, sharp attacks and statements are fired between the ruling party and the opposition, but something happened in the public meeting of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami in Chamoli which has intensified the stir in the political corridors of the state. In this program, Congress MLA from Badrinath seat Lakhpat Butola praised the Chief Minister from the stage. He admitted in an open forum that maximum development work has been done in his assembly constituency. A big program named ‘Jan-Jan ki Sarkar, Jan-Jan ke Dwar’ was organized in Gopeshwar, Chamoli. All the big leaders and administrative officers of the area were present in this program. When Badrinath’s Congress MLA Lakhpat Butola got a chance to present his views on the stage, he said something which perhaps even the people sitting there had not expected. MLA Butola said that it is often spread in political circles that the present government discriminates against the constituencies of opposition MLAs and does not provide funds there.

But the Congress MLA made it clear that his personal experience has been completely opposite to this. He said very frankly that under the leadership of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, record breaking development work has been done in his assembly. The opposition MLA expressed his gratitude to Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami from the public platform and also thanked him.

Chamoli got the gift of development schemes worth crores

On this occasion, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami gave a big gift of development works worth crores of rupees to the people of Chamoli district. To speed up the development of the district, 63 different development schemes worth Rs 155.36 crore were announced by the government. In this, the foundation stone of 36 new schemes worth Rs 113.99 crore was laid to strengthen the infrastructure. Along with this, dedication of 27 old schemes worth Rs 41.37 crore to the people of the area was also done by the Chief Minister.

In all these schemes, the biggest need of the mountains i.e. construction of roads and bridges has been given priority. Apart from this, many works related to improving health facilities, improving school education infrastructure, improving irrigation system and flood protection are included. Many important schemes have also been started to promote tourism and sports, which will provide new employment opportunities to the local youth in the coming time.

The huge crowd gathered in the field showed the changing mood

There was huge enthusiasm among the local people regarding this program of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. Since morning, crowds of people from remote villages, hill towns and valleys of Chamoli started moving towards the police ground of Gopeshwar. Within no time the entire ground was filled with people. A different enthusiasm was visible among the public to listen to the Chief Minister’s address.
