New Delhi: OpenAI’s ChatGPT has once again encountered a problem. Thousands of users around the world are getting SMS messages while opening the app and asking questions. The problem is so big that the graph of complaints on Down Detector is continuously going up.
More than 3000 complaints at global level
Let us tell you that by the time this report was written, complaints on Down Detector had increased from 2000 to 3000. Most of the people are worried about the basic functioning of ChatGPT. According to the data, about 80% of the complaints are related to the core functions of the app.
That means people are not able to login or the chat is not responding. 9% of users are facing problems in Android and iOS mobile apps. Whereas 7% people have reported problem in Codex i.e. code writing feature.
Problems are increasing in India also
The situation is no different on the Indian server also. The number of complaints here rapidly crossed 1000. According to Down Detector, 78% of users in India are facing problems in the operation of ChatGPT. 9% complain about app crashing or slowing down and the remaining 7% are getting API related errors.
This is not the first time. ChatGPT was down a few weeks ago also. At that time, answers to textual questions were available, but codecs and image generation were not working. No official statement has come from OpenAI yet. It is expected from the company that the servers will be fixed soon.
Claude launches new model at half the price
At the time when ChatGPT is down, its rival company Anthropic has made a new move. Anthropic has launched a new version of Claude named Claude Opus 5. The company claims that this model performs better than before in coding and knowledge work and its price is half that of Claude Fable 5.
According to data from Anthropic and industry benchmarks, Opus 5 is faster and more accurate than Fable 5. The interesting thing is that Fable 5 was stopped by the US government. Because of its capabilities, export controls were imposed on it. Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei’s company has released this fourth model in just two months.
In such a situation when the ChatGPT server is down, users have the opportunity to shift to alternatives like Claude. For now, ChatGPT users will have to wait a bit. An update from OpenAI is awaited as to when the service will be fully restored.
