Cheap foreign goods stamped with expensive brands… Fake bearing racket exposed in Delhi, two arrested
A large network of fake bearings has been exposed in the capital Delhi. Crime Branch of Delhi Police has raided two illegal factories running in Farash Khana area and arrested two people. Thousands of fake bearings and machinery were recovered during the operation. According to the investigating agencies, the accused used to get bearings from abroad at low prices and put fake trademarks of renowned companies on them and supply them in the market by passing them off as genuine products. DCP Crime Branch Sanjeev Kumar Yadav said that the arrested accused Aamir Khan and Mohammad Anas were active in this illegal business for a long time. Aamir has already been arrested in cases of copyright infringement and fraud.
On the basis of secret information received on May 16, the Crime Branch team raided two workshops located at Mir Madari Gali. During the operation, 5,067 counterfeit bearings, four stamping machines, one packing machine and a large quantity of packing material were seized. 4,959 fake bearings were recovered from the first factory and 108 fake bearings from the second unit. Police have sealed both the factories.
At present, the police have registered a case under the Copyright Act and are investigating the entire network of this syndicate. It is also being ascertained through which channel the goods were imported from abroad and in which markets of the country including Delhi-NCR it was supplied.
