Chhattisgarh News: Higher education in Chhattisgarh is now being linked to skills, technology, research and employment instead of being limited to degrees and classes only. On the basis of National Education Policy 2020, the state government is making many changes in the higher education system. Its objective is to give such skills to the youth along with studies, so that they can get better opportunities for employment and self-employment.
Colleges will benefit from Higher Education Mission
Chhattisgarh Higher Education Mission has been started to improve the quality of education in the state. Under this, a special amount will be given every year for the infrastructural and educational development of the selected colleges.
Along with this, a monitoring system is also being prepared, so that the sanctioned amount is utilized properly and its benefits reach the students directly.
36 colleges will become centers of excellence
Under the National Education Policy, there is a plan to develop better and research based institutions in every district of the state. Colleges which have more than 3000 students and have good performance will be developed as Centers of Excellence.
There is a plan to prepare a total of 36 colleges in the state in this form. Here special attention will be given to research, innovation and high level teaching.
Courses like AI and Cyber Security
Self-financed curriculum policy is being implemented to prepare students for employment. Under this, new courses are being started keeping in mind the local needs and industries.
These include subjects like Electronics, Sericulture, Fisheries, Tussar Technology, Artificial Intelligence, Cyber Security, Web Designing, Food Processing, Mushroom Cultivation, Floriculture and Herbal Cultivation.
To make these courses practical, the Higher Education Department has also signed MoUs with national level institutions and state skill development and technical departments.
New colleges will open in Vananchal
To extend the benefits of higher education to remote areas, new colleges are being opened in tribal and forest areas. With this, coordination is being increased between industries and educational institutions, so that students can get more opportunities for internship and placement.
Four-year B.Ed. ITEP and BPEd. Like professional courses are also being started.
Recruitment for 595 professor posts
To improve the quality of education, there is a plan to connect experts from industry and practical fields with colleges as Professors of Practice.
Along with this, the process of direct recruitment to 595 posts of professors in government colleges is being completed rapidly.
Steps towards becoming an Education Hub
The government's focus is on research, skill development, technical education, linkages with industries and strong teacher system. Through these efforts, work is being done to develop Chhattisgarh as a big education hub in the future.
