Chhattisgarh News: A major decision has been taken towards industrial development for Mungeli district of Chhattisgarh. In the meeting of the State Council of Ministers chaired by Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai, the proposal to allocate 79.70 acres of government land at concessional rate for setting up BEML (Bharat Earth Movers Limited) heavy earth moving equipment manufacturing plant in village Chandragadhi of Patharia tehsil of Mungeli district has been approved. This decision is being considered an important achievement in the industrial history of the district.
State’s first heavy machinery manufacturing plant
This plant will be the first in Chhattisgarh to manufacture heavy earthmoving equipment. The proposed plant will be located in Chandragadhi village, approximately 30 kilometers from the Bilaspur-Raipur National Highway. Due to its excellent road connectivity, this location is considered suitable for industrial activities.
Youth will get employment and training
The arrival of a public sector enterprise like BEML will provide new employment opportunities for the youth of Mungeli and surrounding areas. They will also receive technical training, enhancing the skills of local youth. This will not only provide direct employment, but will also boost MSMEs , logistics, transportation, spare parts manufacturing, and other ancillary industries. This is expected to boost economic activity in the entire region.
Mungeli got the project due to special efforts
According to Patharia SDM, Mrs. Rekha Chandra, the process of identifying land for this plant was initially underway in Raigarh and Janjgir-Champa districts. Meanwhile, under the guidance of Collector Kundan Kumar, a joint team from the District Trade and Industry Center and the Revenue Department acted swiftly, identifying 79.70 acres of suitable government land in village Chandragarhi and submitting a proposal to the government. The State Council of Ministers subsequently approved the proposal.
Mungeli will become the new center of industrial development
Collector Kundan Kumar congratulated the district on this achievement, saying that the BEML plant will become a new hub for modern manufacturing and engineering activities in Mungeli. This will pave the way for large industries to come to the district and increase investment. It will also create new employment opportunities for youth and strengthen the local economy.

This decision by the state government is not limited to just one industrial project, but is being considered a significant step towards establishing Mungeli as an emerging industrial hub of the state.
