Beijing. In a major development that will completely change the global military balance, China has developed an extremely modern and lethal Hypersonic Glide Vehicle. This new weapon is fully capable of firing air-to-air missiles at enemy aircraft from a distance of thousands of miles in the air. According to defense experts, after the advent of this technology, even the planes which were considered safe far away from the war zone have now come directly to China's target.

'Super weapon' that changes war strategy
According to a Bloomberg report, this weapon of China's People's Liberation Army (PLA) is completely different from traditional ballistic missiles and hypersonic weapons. This is the first time that a country has successfully integrated an air-to-air missile into a vehicle flying at hypersonic speed, i.e. five times faster than the speed of sound.
Key Features and Firepower
Launched from China's DF-17 missile, this HGV can hit a range of 2,414 kilometers i.e. 1,500 miles. At the same time, with the DF-27 missile, its range reaches 5,000 miles, due to which US military bases like Hawaii and Guam also come within its range. This vehicle not only runs at a speed of Mach 5+, but is also capable of changing its direction in the air. For this reason no modern air defense system in the world can track it. Its main objective is to destroy stealth command aircraft (AWACS) and aerial fuel tankers in combat, which are the foundation of any air force.

Big challenge for India and America
Let us tell you that this technology has created a stir in the defense circles around the world. Because at present America or any western country does not have such new technology to fire air-to-air missiles from hypersonic vehicles. China already has a stockpile of more than 3,150 ballistic missiles, which it is continuously upgrading. Defense analysts believe that this technology is a serious strategic challenge for both India and America. In response, the US Navy is also intensifying tests of its long-range missiles, such as the AIM-174B and AIM-424 Malice.
