In an Oct. 19 statement on Weibo, her studio said it had decided to cancel the event after assessing recent risk warnings and consulting the platform involved, according to Global Times.
Participants’ safety and smooth travel arrangements remained its top priorities.
The announcement came three days after the Chinese Embassy in Thailand issued a warning about cases involving Chinese nationals who went missing after entering the country, were illegally detained or were deceived into being transported to the Thai-Myanmar border.
In the notice published on its website, the embassy said criminals had used offers of high-paying jobs, business visits, investment partnerships and project invitations to lure Chinese nationals to Thailand.
It also warned of fraudulent filming and performance invitations targeting livestreamers and entertainers in China, urging travelers to remain vigilant against scams and take precautions to protect themselves.

The studio’s cancellation followed an earlier effort to give fans concerned about traveling to Thailand the option to withdraw.
On Oct. 13, the studio announced a 24-hour window for full ticket refunds through the original booking platforms, AsiaOne reported. At that stage, the event was still set to proceed, with airport reception services and online safety support planned for those attending.
Bai and her studio will cover actual flight and hotel cancellation or change costs directly related to the event for eligible fans from China and overseas who purchased tickets through official channels.
Bai, 32, is a famous Chinese actress and model best known for her leading roles in historical and romantic television dramas.
