New Delhi:
Mizoram batter Chinmay Sutar produced a remarkable innings of 400 not out against Nagaland in the Ranji Trophy, becoming only the second Indian batter to score a quadruple century in the competition’s history.
Representing Mizoram, the Mumbai-born batter joined an elite list that includes former Maharashtra player B B Nimbalkar, who scored 443 not out in 1948.
Sutar’s monumental effort came with valuable support from Lalrempuia Chhakchhuak, with the pair putting together a 189-run partnership.
The innings highlighted Sutar’s endurance and ability to build a huge score in first-class cricket.
