Controversy over Yo Yo Honey Singh’s song: Delhi High Court seeks affidavit

Delhi High Court order

Mumbai: A new controversy has emerged in the entertainment sector. The matter has heated up regarding an old song ‘Volume 1’ of famous rapper Yo Yo Honey Singh. Delhi High Court has directed Honey Singh to present an affidavit to present his side in this matter.

An organization called Hindu Shakti Dal has filed a petition in the court, alleging that Honey Singh performed a controversial song in front of about 50,000 spectators at the Indira Gandhi Stadium. The organization has demanded that all links related to this song be removed from the internet. The petition said that the song was so objectionable that it was not appropriate to sing it on a public platform. However, Honey Singh’s team has completely rejected these allegations.

Honey Singh’s lawyer told the court that the singer did not sing any controversial song. If something like this happened, there should be audio or video available as proof of it. During the hearing, Honey Singh’s side made it clear that the allegations are baseless. After hearing both the parties, the Delhi High Court directed Honey Singh to submit a detailed affidavit, in which he would have to explain his position on all the allegations made in the petition. Along with this, the court has also asked the Central Government to submit a compliance report in this matter.
