Lucknow. After UP Revenue Council Chairman Anil Kumar retired on Sunday, senior IAS officer Archana Agarwal has been given the responsibility of this important post. This is being considered a major administrative change in the state.
Administrative Experience of Archana Agarwal
Archana Aggarwal, a 1990 batch IAS officer who will also hold the charge of Chairmanship of Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation and Additional Chief Secretary Transport, was considered the strongest contender for the post of Chairman of the Revenue Council. Along with him, Deepak Kumar, BS Meena and Leena Johri were also in the race.

The Revenue Council is one of the major administrative bodies of the state, which oversees matters related to land, revenue and appeals. Archana Aggarwal getting this responsibility is being considered an important change at the government level. He is known for his administrative ability and decision making style.

Archana Aggarwal has been the Transport Commissioner of Uttar Pradesh in 2009-10 and has experience of many important responsibilities. During his tenure, he has been entrusted with major responsibilities of the Revenue Council. Recently the transfer list has also been released. Archana Aggarwal has served as magistrate and collector in Sultanpur and Ayodhya.
