Shilpa Shinde’s controversy deepens

Mumbai: The ongoing controversy against actress Shilpa Shinde in the TV industry has now increased further. Recently, Shilpa admitted in a podcast that the sexual harassment allegations she made against ‘Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain’ producer Sanjay Kohli in 2016 were false. His statement has sparked heated debate on social media, with many demanding action against him. Amidst this controversy, Shilpa has clarified her point.

Speaking to the media, Shilpa said, “I have spoken to Sanjay Kohli and his wife. They told me to let those who criticize do so. I already knew that there would be controversy after my statement. Sanjay called me to say thank you, but I said that thanks or apology are not enough in such matters. We both know what the truth was at that time.”

She further added, “I have never been afraid to speak the truth and I believe no one should be afraid to speak the truth. I have set an example that if something is true, one must have the courage to admit it.”

The controversy escalated further when a person alleged that Shilpa had made false allegations earlier also. Responding to this, he said, “I have said earlier not to try to uproot old issues. If people bring up old cases again, I have examples and evidence that can change many perceptions.”

Shilpa said, “For me, the definition of right and wrong has always been clear. It is part of my nature to call wrong as wrong and truth as truth.”

Meanwhile, Shilpa also reacted to actress Pooja Bedi’s statement in which Pooja had demanded an impartial investigation to stop misuse of laws in sexual harassment cases. Shilpa supported Pooja and said that every case should be investigated.

The controversy started when Shilpa said in Bharti Singh and Haarsh Limbachiyaa’s podcast that she had filed a sexual harassment case against Sanjay Kohli because she felt she had no option. He also said that the step was taken during the dispute over the show’s contract and dues payment.
