‘More than 2,000 calls, online search and then murder..’ How was the conspiracy to murder Ketan hatched? Know the whole story

Many shocking things have come to light in the murder case of Pune-based industrialist Ketan Aggarwal. Ketan’s fiancée and her lover Chetan push him down a hill, killing him. This murder was a pre-planned conspiracy. Pune Rural Police officials say that the murder was planned very carefully, as it is alleged that Siya and Chaudhary had used their phones to find a way to kill.

Based on detailed investigation of call records and CCTV footage, Pune (Rural) Superintendent of Police Sandeep Singh Gill on Wednesday said that Ketan Vishal Agarwal’s fiancee Sia Goyal and her boyfriend Chetan Choudhary were constantly searching for ways to kill someone online. Additionally, between January 1 and June 18 – that is, before Ketan was killed by pushing him off the Lohagarh Fort – the two had spoken on phone more than 2,000 times. Some of these calls lasted for more than two to three hours.

Police investigation also revealed that on the day of the incident, before going to Lohagarh Fort, Goyal and Chaudhary had met at a café and discussed the plan to murder Agarwal. Pune Rural Police officials say the murder appears to be a pre-planned conspiracy, as it is alleged that Siya and Chaudhary had used their mobile phones to find a way to kill Ketan. Dinesh Tayde, Senior Police Inspector of Lonavala Rural Police Station and the investigating officer of this case, said that even after the murder of Ketan Aggarwal, calls and messages continued to be exchanged between Siya and Chetan.

Who was Ketan Agarwal?
Ketan Aggarwal (25) was a director in his family’s company ‘Success Group’, which is one of the largest warehouse manufacturing companies in Maharashtra. In February this year, a wedding was organized by his maternal uncle, and he got engaged to Siya Goyal (20). The wedding was to take place in November and hotels in Udaipur had also been booked for the occasion. Goyal also belongs to a rich business family of Pune. However, the Aggarwal family had no idea that she was in love with Choudhary (22).

Why did Siya get engaged to Ketan? Police suspect that Siya was not ready to run away from this arranged marriage, but she was not able to openly tell her family about her relationship. “Due to social pressure and concerns about family honour, she felt she had no other option but to elope with Chetan,” an officer said. Both Siya and Chetan have been arrested on charges of murder and conspiracy under sections 103 and 61(2) of the Indian Penal Code.
