Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has launched a special tour package for tourists traveling during Onam holidays. Under this package named “Onam Vacation Special Tour – Golden Triangle with Ahmedabad and Statue of Unity”, tourists will be taken to several major cultural and tourist places across India.

When will this special tour start?

This tour will be done by ‘Bharat Gaurav’ special tourist train. This tour of total 11 nights and 12 days will start on August 22, 2026. During the tour, tourists will visit famous places like Ahmedabad, Statue of Unity, Agra, Delhi and Jaipur. The package code for this tour is SZBG42. The train will depart from Trivandrum North and passengers will be able to board the train from stations like Kollam, Chengannur, Kottayam, Ernakulam Town, Thrissur, Shoranur Junction, Kozhikode, Kannur and Mangaluru Junction.

Which places will you visit?

During the yatra, visits to Akshardham Temple, Adalaj Stepwell, Sabarmati Ashram and Rani Ki Vav will be organized in Ahmedabad. Additionally, tourists will get a chance to see the world’s tallest statue, the Statue of Unity. The itinerary includes Red Fort, Rajghat, Lotus Temple, Qutub Minar and India Gate in Delhi. Also, the tour will include Taj Mahal in Agra and Amer Fort, City Palace, Jantar Mantar and Hawa Mahal in Jaipur.

Now, coming to the main thing: how much will it cost? For the convenience of passengers, the packages have been divided into four categories. Economy category fares start from ₹21,190 per person. The fare for Standard category is ₹31,720 per person, for Comfort category is ₹37,570 and for Superior category is ₹52,870 per person. Separate concessional rates have also been fixed for children.

What is included in this? This package includes train travel, hotel accommodation, local transport, vegetarian food, travel insurance, tour escort, security arrangements and all applicable taxes. However, this does not include expenses like monument entry fees, personal expenses, room service, adventure activities and services of local guides. Passengers who are interested in this tour will also be given an LTC certificate after the completion of the tour, which can be availed by the eligible staff.
