Heavy losses in business: Along with music, Kailash started a handicraft export business with a friend, but the endeavor was unsuccessful. He suffered a massive loss, leading to depression and suicidal thoughts. During this difficult time, he moved to Rishikesh, where he spent time with sages and saints on the banks of the Ganges. The bhajan-kirtan and spiritual environment gave him new energy and he decided to devote himself completely to music.
Beginning of music career
How music career started: Kailash Kher reached Mumbai in 2001. Initially he did small jobs and sang jingles. In 2004, he got recognition with the song ‘Rabba Ishq Na Hove’ from the film ‘Andaz’. After this came his biggest hit song ‘Allah Ke Bande Hans De’, which made him a star overnight. He formed a band called ‘Kailasa’ and gave a new look to Sufi music. Songs like ‘Teri Deewani’, ‘Saiyan’, ‘Bam Lahari’ became the hallmark of his career. He has sung more than 700 songs in more than 20 languages.
He has received the Padma Shri award and also has several national awards to his name including the Filmfare Award. The story of Kailash Kher teaches that any difficulty can be overcome with hard work and passion. Today he is a source of inspiration for millions of people.
