Start of journey from Uttarakhand
It is considered most appropriate for the devotees to start the journey from Kedarnath Dham located in Uttarakhand. After this, visit Kashi Vishwanath in Varanasi, Baidyanath in Deoghar, Jharkhand, and Mahakaleshwar and Omkareshwar in Madhya Pradesh.
Travel plans from South India
Devotees from South India should start the journey from Ramanathaswamy Temple in Rameshwaram, Tamil Nadu. After this, visit Mallikarjuna Jyotirlinga in Srisailam, Andhra Pradesh. Then visit other Jyotirlingas of Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and North India.

Devotees from Gujarat and Maharashtra should start their darshan from Nageshwar Jyotirlinga in Dwarka. After this, visit Somnath, Trimbakeshwar, Bhimashankar, Ghrishneshwar, Omkareshwar and Mahakaleshwar. Conclude the journey with visits to Kedarnath, Kashi Vishwanath and Baidyanath, and finally to Mallikarjuna and Rameshwaram.
