Later this property was inherited by his relative Nariman Dubash. Due to its historical and architectural importance, it is classified as a Grade II-B heritage structure, requiring that its original structure be maintained.

During the shooting of the film ‘Yes Boss’ in 1997, Shahrukh Khan liked this bungalow very much and dreamed that one day he would become its owner. His dream came true in 2001 when he purchased this property from Bai Khorshed Bhanu Sanjana Trust, whose trustee is Nariman Dubash.


Conservation and current value of Mannat

Mannat, which is a Grade II-B heritage structure, is protected under heritage conservation rules. This means that any major changes require official approval. Shahrukh Khan bought it in 2001 for approximately ₹13.32 crore, and it is now estimated to be worth between ₹200 crore and ₹250 crore.

Supreme Court decision

Recently, the Supreme Court approved the plan for renovation of Mannat and addition of new floors. The court said that there was no evidence of environmental violations and that the decision was taken on legal grounds and not on the basis of Shahrukh Khan’s celebrity status.
