New technology will provide relief in summer
New Delhi: Imagine, when after working in the hot sun you have to sit in a special box instead of AC to get coolness. This may sound strange, but Japan has turned it into reality. Japan has developed a new technology, which can cool the body of people suffering from heat in just a few minutes. This special machine is called ‘Human Refrigerator’, which aims to provide relief to people who work in sunny or hot environments for long hours.
Features of ‘Do Hiemon Box’
According to the report, the name of this device is ‘Do Hiemon Box’. Its design is similar to a big fridge, hence it is also called human fridge. It consists of a comfortable chair, sitting on which a person can reduce his body temperature within a few minutes. This machine looks like a vending machine.
Only ‘one person’ can sit in this cabin at a time. The body gets cooled rapidly through cold air and special cooling technology inside the machine, providing instant relief from heat.
Experience coolness in 5-10 minutes
‘Within 5 to 10 minutes of sitting in this human fridge, the body temperature starts returning to normal’. For safety, this machine switches off automatically after 20 minutes. It is claimed that ‘the body starts cooling in about 5 minutes’, while ‘within 10 minutes one can get significant relief from heat-related symptoms like headache, fatigue and heatstroke’.
The temperature inside this machine is kept at ‘about 15 degrees Celsius’. ‘5 degree Celsius cold air’ is released on the head, neck and back, which cools the body rapidly. Another special thing about it is that it consumes ‘almost half the electricity’ compared to a normal air conditioner.
Safety measures for workers
Japan has also been facing extreme heat for the past few years, like India. At times the temperature in Tokyo reaches above 40 degrees Celsius. This human fridge has been developed to face this challenge.
The main objective of this technology is to protect the workers working in construction sites and factories from heat wave and extreme heat. This special box is said to be priced around Rs 8.85 lakh and is planned to be used at workplaces where employees work in extreme heat for long periods of time.
