Rajasthan is known for its forts, palaces and temples as well as Sufi tradition and historic Islamic architecture. There are many such mosques and dargahs in the state, which have special importance from religious, historical and architectural point of view. Major mosques and dargahs of the state have also been mentioned in the religious tourism list of the Rajasthan government.
1. Ajmer Sharif Dargah
Khwaja Gharib Nawaz Dargah Sharif is among the most famous dargahs of Rajasthan. Located in Ajmer, this Dargah houses the tomb of Sufi saint Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti. It is considered one of the major Sufi religious places in the country and devotees of different religions come here. Nizam Gate, Shahjahan Gate and Buland Darwaza are the major attractions in the Dargah complex.
2. Two and a half day hut, Ajmer
Adhai Din Ka Jhonpra is one of the most famous historical buildings of Ajmer. According to Rajasthan Tourism, this complex was originally built as a Sanskrit college and was later converted into a mosque in 1198 AD. A unique blend of Indian and Islamic styles is visible in its architecture.
3. Jama Masjid, Jaipur
Jama Masjid of Jaipur is counted among the major historical mosques of the city. It has been included among the major mosques of Rajasthan in the religious tourism list of the Government of Rajasthan. Located amidst the architectural tradition of the old Jaipur city, this mosque is a part of the historical identity of the city along with religious activities.
4. Fakhruddin Chishti Dargah, Galiyakot
The Dargah of Fakhruddin Chishti located in Galiyakot in Dungarpur district of Rajasthan is also included among the major Sufi places of the state. This place is especially associated with the faith of the Dawoodi Bohra community. A large number of pilgrims reach here during the annual religious event.
5. Khwaja Fakhruddin Chishti Dargah, Sarwar
The Dargah of Khwaja Fakhruddin Chishti located in Sarwar in Ajmer district is also counted among the major Sufi shrines of Rajasthan. Devotees come here for Ziyarat and the annual Urs of the Dargah is considered important from the religious point of view.

The mosques and dargahs of Rajasthan are not only religious places, but also offer a glimpse of the centuries-old architectural, cultural and Sufi traditions of the state. Especially Ajmer Sharif has given Rajasthan a distinct identity not only in the country but also on the map of major Sufi pilgrimage sites in the world.
