Rani Mukherjee's honor
Famous Bollywood actress Rani Mukherjee has been honored with the Raj Kapoor Special Contribution Award by the Government of Maharashtra for her unique contribution. This award was presented to him by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis at the 62nd Maharashtra State Film Awards ceremony.
Rani Mukherjee said after receiving the award, “Maharashtra is not just a state for me, it is my birthplace and workplace.” He further said, “Cinema is a deeply emotional experience for me and Maharashtra is the home of that experience. This award is special for me because it is connected to my own people.”
In her career spanning three decades, Rani has played important roles in films like 'Black', 'No One Killed Jessica', 'Hichki', 'Mardaani' series and 'Mrs Chatterjee vs Norway'.
He also said that he has always chosen stories and characters that have truth and courage. Rani mentioned her efforts to represent strong women on screen, saying that she inspires women who don't wait for someone else's support.
He dedicated the award to all the artistes, technicians and filmmakers of Maharashtra, saying that the state has played an important role in shaping Indian cinema. Rani said, “Whenever I look at this award, I will not just see an award, but my Mumbai and Maharashtra.”
