How to make Paneer Do Pyaza
First of all cut the cheese into medium sized pieces. Heat some oil in a pan and fry the paneer until it becomes light golden. After this, take out the cheese in a plate and keep it aside.
Now add some oil as per requirement in the same pan. Add finely chopped onion to it and fry until it becomes light golden. After this add ginger, garlic and green chillies and cook for some time.
Now add chopped tomatoes and cook them until they become completely soft. After this, add turmeric, red chilli, coriander powder and salt and fry the spices well.
After the masala cools down, grind it and prepare a smooth gravy. Heat some oil in a pan and cook the prepared gravy for about 5 to 10 minutes. When the masala is roasted well, add curd or cream to it and stir continuously, so that the gravy gets mixed well.
Now add pre-roasted paneer to it and let it cook on low flame for a few minutes.
Finally add big pieces of onion
The special taste of Paneer Do Pyaza comes from its onions. For this, cut an onion into big pieces and fry it lightly in a separate pan or wok.
When the paneer is cooked well in the gravy, add these roasted onion pieces to the vegetable. Add Kasoori Methi and some garam masala over it and cook for about 2 minutes.
Finally add finely chopped coriander and turn off the gas. In this way your delicious Dhaba Style Paneer Do Pyaza is ready.
Serve with everything from roti to naan.
You can serve hot Paneer Do Pyaza with roti, paratha, naan or tandoori roti. Its gravy prepared with onion and spices enhances the taste of the food and also provides a different option from the everyday paneer vegetable.
