sixth day of Ganesh Utsav
Today is the sixth day of Ganesh Utsav. If you want to please Lord Ganesha and offer him special food, then this article is useful for you. This time you can offer modak made of cheese to Lord Ganesha. You must have eaten modaks made from rice flour many times, but making paneer modaks is also very easy.
Ingredients required to make Paneer Modak
– Paneer- 250 grams
– Milk powder- 1/2 cup
– Powdered sugar- 1/2 cup
– Milk- 2 to 3 tablespoons
– Cardamom powder- 1/2 tsp
– Ghee- for greasing the mold
– Saffron- a little
– Pistachios or almonds for garnish
Recipe to make Paneer Modak
– First of all crumble or grate the cheese well. Make sure that there are no large pieces of cheese so that the mixture can be mixed easily.
– Now take a heavy bottomed pan or pan and add paneer in it. Add milk powder, powdered sugar and some milk and mix everything well. Keep the gas on low to medium flame and keep stirring the mixture continuously.
– Take care that the mixture does not stick to the bottom of the pan. As the water content of the paneer reduces, the mixture will gradually start thickening. Cook it till it starts leaving the sides of the pan.
Now add cardamom powder to it and mix well. You can also add some saffron for taste and aroma.
– Take out the mixture in a plate and keep it to cool.
When the mixture cools down a bit, apply ghee in the modak mould.
Now take a part of the mixture and fill it in the mold and press it gently. Close the mold and remove the mixture that comes out from the sides.
– Open the mold and slowly take out the modak in a plate. Prepare modak from the remaining mixture in the same manner.
– Finally, garnish with chopped pistachios or almonds.
Serving of Paneer Modak
Place the paneer modak in a clean plate. After preparing for the puja, offer bhog to Bappa as per your tradition. After offering Bhog, it can be eaten as Prasad with the family. If you want to make the modak more beautiful, you can apply chopped pistachios, almonds or saffron threads on top.
