Meta has not limited its new AI Glasses to just camera and smart features. The company has added many new features related to AI assistance, audio, voice commands and accessibility. At the Meta Connect 2026 event held in Menlo Park, California on September 23, the company introduced several new wearables from Ray-Ban, Oakley and Meta brands.
According to Meta, more than 100 styles of these smart glasses will be available by the end of the year. The new model has better AI, longer battery life and such features, for which the user will not need to take out the smartphone again and again.
Muse AI will do many things
Meta has introduced Muse AI in the new AI Glasses. It is not just an assistant that answers questions, but can also help in completing some tasks on behalf of the user.
According to the company, Muse AI can work with websites and connected services. Through this, tasks like sending emails, travel booking, filling forms and online shopping can be done. However, at present this facility is limited to America.
Changes in camera features also
Meta has added many camera related features in the new glasses. These include Dolby Atmos Capture, Dynamic Photo and Landscape Crop Mode.
Dynamic Photo captures multiple frames with one photo, after which Meta AI can help choose the better frame. With the help of Landscape Crop Mode, photos, videos, slow-motion and hyperlapse can be recorded in horizontal format.
The company has also mentioned Private Processing for data privacy during AI features.
Hearing Enhancement will help in hearing
Meta has also added Hearing Enhancement feature to AI Glasses. According to the company, it is an FDA-cleared software designed for people with mild to moderate hearing loss.
Meta says it can be set up at home in a few minutes and will not require a clinic visit or prescription. In the US, this feature will be made available with select styles at the end of the year and can be used with Meta One subscription.
Ray-Ban Meta Audio also announced
Meta has for the first time introduced camera-free AI Glasses named Ray-Ban Meta Audio. Camera is not provided in these, but the user can use music, podcasts, phone calls and AI assistant.
The weight of these glasses is said to be around 43 grams. According to the company, they can be used for 12 hours on a single charge, while the total battery backup with the charging case can reach 48 hours.
Ray-Ban Meta Audio has been launched from America. Information regarding its launch date or price in India has not been revealed yet.
Try to increase distance from phone
The way AI assistant, audio and accessibility features have been added to Meta's new AI Glasses, the company seems to be emphasizing on wearable experience that reduces dependence on smartphones. Now along with capturing content from the camera, the user can also do many types of tasks with AI through voice.
