How to check VIP number sitting at home?
For this, first of all one has to go to the government's Parivahan portal. By going to the Fancy Number section, you can get information about the numbers available according to your state and RTO. The facility to search the fancy/choice numbers available on the portal and to view information about the upcoming e-auction is also provided. After this, one has to choose the number of one's choice, register and make payment as per the prescribed procedure. If there is only one applicant for that number then the number can be allotted as per the rules of the state. At the same time, if many people apply for the same number, then there can be online bidding i.e. e-auction for that number.
How much do VIP numbers cost?
The cost of fancy numbers may vary from state to state and number category. Generally, the base price of numbers with high demand is kept higher. According to the details given by you, the base price of some popular numbers is given up to Rs 1 lakh, while in other categories the starting price is Rs 50 thousand, 25 thousand and 15 thousand. A separate base price may also be set for two-wheelers. Keep in mind that these base price it occurs. If multiple people bid for a number, the final price could go much higher. The system of e-auction and minimum reserve price according to the state/RTO has also been shown in the government Parivahan system.
How is online bidding done?
If more than one person applies for a VIP number, the online bidding process for that number can begin. The applicant has to participate in the bidding by depositing the prescribed initial amount or fee. After this, the bidding continues till the stipulated time and the number is allotted to the applicant who bids the highest. Parivahan's system also has the facility to view e-auction cycle, bid status and final result online. Payment/refund of those who are not successful in the bid is processed as per the rules of the respective state.

While booking a VIP number, it is very important to fill the information given in the application carefully. The name, address and other documents of the vehicle owner should be correct. Any mistake in the information may affect the application. Also keep in mind that the rules, fees, time limit and auction process for booking VIP number. May vary as per state and respective RTO. Therefore, before booking the number, please check the current conditions shown on the Parivahan portal for your state/RTO. This means that now it is not necessary for you to stand in long queues at the RTO office to get the preferred number. First of all, check the numbers available online, select the number of your choice and participate in the online bidding if e-auction is applicable for that number.
