Vidya Balan's new project
Actress Vidya Balan has started working on a new Tamil film with filmmaker R Balki. The pair first came together in the film 'Paa' about 17 years ago. Vidya shared a picture from the set on her social media account on Tuesday, giving her fans information about this new film. The name of this film has not been revealed yet, but its shooting has started.
Vidya posted a picture on Instagram, in which she was seen holding a script, wearing glasses and a long ponytail. He wrote in the caption, “New beginning #NewTamilFilm with #RBalki”.
Reunion with R Balki
Vidya Balan and R Balki previously worked together in the 2009 film 'Paa', which starred Amitabh Bachchan in the lead role. This new Tamil film is an important reunion for them. 'Paa' also won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Hindi.
R Balki is a renowned filmmaker and writer who has directed successful films like 'Ghoomar', 'Padman', 'Chup', 'Ki & Ka' and 'Mission Mangal'.
Vidya Balan's work front
Vidya Balan recently worked with Riteish Deshmukh in the historical period drama 'Raja Shivaji', in which she played the role of Badi Begum. She will also soon be seen in Rajinikanth's much-awaited film 'Jailor 2', which will release on October 15, 2026. Vidya's character in this film is 'Kanta', the first look of which was released recently.
'Jailor 2' is written and directed by Nelson Dilipkumar and also stars Shiva Rajkumar, Vijay Sethupathi, Mithun Chakraborty and Ramya Krishnan.
Apart from this, Vidya Balan also has a new film in the pipeline with Akshay Kumar and Anees Bazmee, the shooting of which has started in Kerala.
