Adani Group and Kutch University launch Green Energy Center of Excellence, more than 10,000 students will get training every year

Bhuj (Gujarat), October 4 (IANS). Adani Skills and Education (ASE), the skill development and capacity building arm of Adani Group, in collaboration with Kutch University, on Sunday inaugurated the Green Energy Center of Excellence (CoE) in Bhuj. The initiative aims to create skilled human resources for India's rapidly growing renewable energy sector.

This center was inaugurated by Gujarat Governor Acharya Devvrat. More than 10,000 students are expected to benefit from specialized training programs related to renewable energy and industrial automation every year through the institute.

This initiative has been launched at a time when the demand for trained professionals is increasing rapidly with the expansion of the clean energy sector in the country. According to Adani Group, the company's green energy projects in Gujarat's Kutch district have generated more than 21,000 direct and indirect jobs in the last two years, leading to the need for trained workforce to build, operate and maintain green energy infrastructure.

In the Green Energy Center of Excellence, training will be provided in areas like Solar PV Technology, Wind Energy System, Hybrid Energy System, Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) and Digital and Industrial Automation. In addition, the center will also encourage applied research and entrepreneurship in the green energy sector.

Adani Group Director Karan Adani said that the renewable energy sector will play an important role in shaping the future of India. He said that this center will not only prepare the students for the current employment opportunities but will also enable them to take advantage of the new opportunities emerging in India and globally.

He further said that this global level Center of Excellence will provide training to the youth as per future skills and industry needs.

Robin Bhowmick, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Adani Skills & Education, said that the renewable energy industry is expanding rapidly, but the availability of required expert talent has not kept pace with the same. He said that through the partnership with Kutch University, the needs of the industry will be taken directly to the classroom and students will get practical experience related to real technologies.

India has set an ambitious target of achieving 500 GW of non-fossil fuel-based energy capacity by 2030, leading to large-scale investment in solar, wind, energy storage and other clean energy sectors.

Kutch has emerged as a major center in this change. Adani Group is developing a 30 GW capacity renewable energy park here at Khavda, spread over an area of about 538 square kilometres, which is considered one of the largest green energy projects in the world.

The university-based center will work on a structured learning model, combining classroom-based studies, simulation-based training and practical experience. The curriculum will include solar and wind energy technologies, renewable energy integration, battery storage systems, microgrids, SCADA systems, Internet of Things (IoT) based energy applications and smart grid technologies.
