Tuberculosis (TB)
TB was earlier considered a fatal disease, but now its treatment is completely possible. The Government of India is working on TB Free India campaign. TB treatment can be 90% successful. According to WHO's Global TB Report, about 187 out of every 1 lakh people in India are affected by TB. There was a time when it was considered incurable.
leprosy
Leprosy was earlier considered incurable, but now it can be completely cured. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), it can be cured through multidrug therapy (MDT). MDT completely cures the patient by eliminating the bacteria. If not treated in time, it can cause damage to the peripheral nerves.
hepatitis C
Hepatitis C is a viral infection that affects the liver, causing inflammation of the liver. Its symptoms are not visible initially, hence it is called silent killer. Earlier there was no effective treatment for it, but now it can be completely cured in 95% of the cases. Its treatment takes 6 to 12 weeks.
Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia Cancer (ALL)
It is the most common cancer in children, which mainly affects the bone marrow. Earlier its treatment was not possible, but now the survival rate has increased to 90%. If the child gets timely treatment, he can recover completely from it. Treatment of many types of cancer, not just acute lymphoblastic leukemia, is now possible. If cancer is detected in the early stages, the chances of recovery increase.
