When the news of his demise came on Thursday morning, a wave of mourning ran across the country.
Nana Patekar breathed his last due to cardiac arrest in Goa at the age of 75. After his demise, his old videos started going viral on social media, in which he is seen openly expressing the truth of life and death. In a video he says, 'People will forget you after you die.' When he was asked who remains alive after death, he said in his philosophical style, 'After death, the heart remains alive for 10 minutes, the brain for 20 minutes and the eyes for 4 hours. During these four hours, the eyes observe the behavior of our loved ones. After that, death would seem like a gift to the dead person.'
Through these thoughts, Nana Patekar not only exposed the reality of life but also told the truth of the relationships with the people who have passed away in today's changing times. Another viral video of his shows that he considered death as an immutable truth and wanted to live life without any illusion. He said, 'We know we have to go. I have stored my wood, and it is dry. Do not use wet wood, otherwise smoke will come. In this way, they talk about avoiding misunderstandings at the time of death.

Despite being such a big star, he preferred to stay away from the glare of the film industry. When he appeared on megastar Amitabh Bachchan's show 'Kaun Banega Crorepati 17' in June 2025, he talked about his lifestyle. When Amitabh asked why he returned to the village after achieving everything, Nana said, 'I am not from the film industry. I just come here to work and then go back. I like village life.
