Kriti Sanon reacts to trolling on women's attire
Famous Bollywood actress Kriti Sanon has raised questions on trolling and patriarchal thinking regarding women's attire. She said that women should raise their voice for their choices and rights. On this, Kareena Kapoor Khan also appreciated Kriti's thoughts and called it an act of courage.
During a conversation on Kareena Kapoor Khan's show 'What Women Want', Kriti mentioned the trolling she faced over the bodice she wore in an advertisement. She said she was surprised to see her attire become a national debate and a topic of discussion on prime time news.
Kriti told that usually she does not react to trolling, but this time she felt it was necessary to speak on this issue. It is not just a matter of their dressing, but it is a bigger issue related to the society's attitude towards women.
Kriti said that women are repeatedly targeted for their clothes, weight and physical appearance. She raised the question why women are judged for every small and big thing and who has given people the right to comment on their personal decisions.
Kareena agreed with Kriti and said that every woman has the right to wear clothes of her choice. He termed unnecessary comments and trolling against women as wrong.
Kriti also said that it is important for women to raise their voice for their rights, as it challenges the gender inequality and patriarchal thinking present in the society. He said that there is a need to raise questions again and again to change this deeply rooted thinking.
