Radhika Apte's opinion on the challenges of women-oriented films

Radhika Apte's statement

Bollywood Updates: Actress Radhika Apte has discussed the problems faced by women-centric films in the Hindi film industry. He says that due to uncertainty at the box office, sometimes actresses have to choose films in which male actors are prominent. According to Radhika, only big actresses like Alia Bhatt and Deepika Padukone have a chance of getting a good opening for the film.

Theater or OTT, no difference for Radhika

Radhika Apte has worked in many projects like 'Lust Stories 3', 'Saali Mohabbat', 'Mrs. Undercover' and 'Monica O My Darling'. Many of these films were released directly on the OTT platform. However, Radhika says that she does not choose a project on the basis of whether it will be released in theaters or on OTT. He said that the medium of release is not important for him while selecting a film, as there are many business decisions behind it.

Uncertainty about female-oriented films

Radhika also said that in the last few years it has not been clear what kind of films the audience would like in theatres. According to him, despite a good story and great acting, a female-centric film is not sure to be successful at the box office.

'I am not like Alia or Deepika'

Radhika said that names like Alia Bhatt and Deepika Padukone can be expected to get initial audience for the film, but there is no such guarantee in their case. He clarified that for this reason he may have to work in such films in which male actors are in the lead roles. This comment of Radhika reflects the uncertainty regarding the box office performance of women-oriented films in Hindi cinema.
