avoid firecrackers
The Supreme Court has allowed burning of green firecrackers in Delhi for some time, but doctors have advised children suffering from allergies, asthma and bronchitis to avoid burning firecrackers. They say that the smoke emanating from these firecrackers can be harmful to health.
Attention to children's safety
A senior doctor at Loknayak Jai Prakash (LNJP) Hospital said that even though green crackers emit less smoke, it can still be harmful for children, especially those who are already sensitive to pollution. Parents should take special care of their children, because problems like allergic rhinitis, asthma and bronchitis can occur in children also.
effect of pollution
Recently, the Supreme Court has given permission to burn green crackers in Delhi and NCR on 7th and 8th November from 6 to 7 am and 8 to 10 pm. However, the court has warned that this will increase pollution. The air quality in Delhi has deteriorated, and according to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), the AQI has reached 391, which falls in the severe category.
Danger of pollution for children
Dr. Vivek Jain, Director of Pediatrics Department, BLK-Max Super Specialty Hospital, said that polluted air can increase problems like cough, wheezing and difficulty in breathing in children. Long-term exposure to pollution can also have a negative impact on lung development.
safety measures
Dr. Jain has advised wearing a mask to avoid pollution. While buying a mask, parents should pay attention to its quality and fitting. The mask should be according to the age and face shape of the child. Apart from this, one should use wet cloth while cleaning the house during Diwali, as dry dusting can increase allergies.
