New Delhi, 25 July. After the third round of meeting with the Central Government, the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) on Saturday afternoon announced the end of the student agitation that has been going on at Jantar Mantar for the last one month.
A day earlier, the third round of meeting was held between the two sides.
It is noteworthy that a meeting was held at Vitthalbhai Patel House on Friday afternoon between the representatives of CJP and the Central Government regarding various demands including the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan in the NEET paper leak case. Union Health Minister JP Nadda and Minister of State in PMO Dr Jitendra Singh represented the government in the meeting while the CJP delegation included national spokespersons – Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka.

CJP was adamant on Pradhan’s resignation, government had asked for 24 hours’ time
In the said meeting, the government had given in-principle approval to two demands of compensation (for the families of those students preparing for NEET who committed suicide) and withdrawal of FIRs and legal cases against the students. But CJP was adamant on the resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan. The government had sought time till noon today to take a decision on Pradhan’s resignation and a meeting with CJP representatives was scheduled for 3.30 pm.

However, even before that, Dharmendra Pradhan shared an open letter to the agitating youth on social media platform X and informed about sending his resignation to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Government accepted all five demands of CJP
At present, the meeting between the government and CJP representatives took place at the scheduled time. During this, five demands raised by CJP were discussed between the two sides and all the demands were accepted by the government. After this, CJP national spokesperson Saurabh Das announced in the press conference that now the ongoing protest at Jantar Mantar is ending with immediate effect.
What did Saurabh Das say?
Saurabh Das said – Our protest at Jantar Mantar, which was going on for several days, had three main demands – resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan, all legal cases and FIRs registered against the protesters and organizers not only in Delhi but in the entire country should be withdrawn, no case should be registered against the protesters or organizers in future. The government has accepted all these demands.
Will meet the government again in about four weeks regarding the five-point demand letter.
Das further said, ‘Apart from this, we also put forward a five-point demand letter before the government, which talked about comprehensive educational reforms and examination reforms. So that we can work together on comprehensive reforms. If the government agrees to all these demands then we would also like to withdraw the movement.
The third round of talks with the CJP delegation was held today. The delegation submitted a written proposal covering cases related to the agitation along with its Five-Point Charter.

Nadda said‘We will give them a copy of the FIR and no action will be taken’
Nadda said during the press conference, ‘Today we had a long conversation. He had brought a written draft, in which he had put forward four points regarding the case going on in the movement. Along with this, we also talked about the remaining two demands – no retaliatory action should be taken, compensation should be given and their five point charter should be considered.
Nadda further said, ‘We will give them a copy of the FIR and no action will be taken. The second thing that has been said is that regarding compensation, the government has clearly said that we also sympathize. We all have said that compensation will be given as per rules and laws, whatever is maximum will be given to them.
