CJP Leaders Abhijeet Dipke, Saurav Das, and Ashutosh Ranka Detained at Delhi Airport Ahead of Jantar Mantar Protest

The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) has confirmed that its founder Abhijeet Dipke, along with core leaders Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka, were detained by law enforcement authorities immediately upon landing at the Delhi airport on Saturday morning, October 10.

The leaders were en route to lead the party’s mass demonstration at Jantar Mantar, organized to demand the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar over alleged irregularities in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.

According to party statements and live updates from the scene, a Delhi Police team intercepted the CJP leadership directly inside the aircraft cabin upon touchdown. Despite objections raised by the leaders over the pre-emptive move, police escorted them off the flight into custody.

The detentions form part of an unprecedented security grid across the national capital, which includes the deployment of over 40,000 security personnel, the shutdown of 45 metro stations, extensive train cancellations, and the establishment of temporary detention facilities across several sports complexes.

The CJP has strongly condemned the detentions, calling them an authoritarian attempt to suppress peaceful democratic dissent and freedom of movement.
