Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) had a march to Parliament yesterday, which was stopped midway. Thousands of youth were marching from Jantar Mantar towards Parliament. During this, the police lathicharged and released tear gas shells. After this CJP called it murder of democracy. It is being claimed that hundreds of youth have been injured in this lathi charge. The leadership of CJP has made it clear that this protest will not be limited to the resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan only, but now the resignation of the Prime Minister will also be demanded. CJP national spokesperson Ashutosh Ranka has said that now the party will not talk to the government. If the government wants to talk then it will have to come to Jantar Mantar.

Ashutosh Ranka said, “Lathis were used on our children. They were beaten, their heads were broken and dragged on the streets. Sonam Wangchuk’s wife Geetanjali was pulled out of the truck by her hair. The glass of the sound system truck managing the people was broken. The ribs of one of our volunteers were broken. We have never seen such brutality till date.”
He alleged that Delhi Police crossed all limits and they were specifically instructed to beat up people. He said that now the movement will become bigger. Now more people will come to Delhi than the number who reached Delhi yesterday. “We will not move from here at all until Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan resigns.”

What demands did CJP place before the government?
After meeting JP Nadda, CJP had made three major demands. These included the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, compensation of Rs 1 crore each to the families of students who committed suicide in NEET-related matters and bringing Sonam Wangchuk back to Jantar Mantar and ending her fast.

Sonam Wangchuk is currently hospitalized and is continuing her hunger strike. The police took him with them on the morning of 19th July. Police said that this decision was taken in view of his poor health condition. At the same time, the protesters alleged that Sonam Wangchuk was forcibly picked up and CJP founder Abhijit Dipke was also misbehaved by the police.
