Claims of Chinese infiltration on Arunachal Pradesh border baseless: Union Minister Kiren Rijiju Country-Foreign

New Delhi, 19 August 2026: Union Minister Kiren Rijiju on Wednesday rejected China's claims of intrusion on the border of Arunachal Pradesh. He has clarified that the claims of those who are saying that China has come within 60 kilometers and are sharing false videos are absolutely false. While talking to a news agency, Rijiju had admitted that there is a definite problem on the border because the border has not been demarcated yet. People of the border villages of Arunachal Pradesh have expressed concern about this, which is justified, but this situation does not mean that China has occupied any village in India.

The Union Minister had said that due to lack of demarcation, China claims some areas. The villagers and Tibetans living on the Chinese side claim that their land lies deep inside, due to which a situation of confusion is created. Propaganda that the Chinese army has entered 60 kilometers inside by posting false pictures creates confusion in the country and weakens the morale of the security personnel deployed on the border.

  • Border security system strengthened

Rijiju had said that India has made the security system on the border very strong. Patrolling has been increased in this area by the Army and Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP). It is noteworthy that India has recently decided to recognize 27 places and geographical features of Arunachal Pradesh with standard names in the official maps of Survey of India, which is a strong response to China's efforts to change the names. The Government of India has clarified earlier also that Arunachal Pradesh is an integral part of India and maintaining peace and stability on the border is essential for the comprehensive bilateral relations between the two countries.
