Cleaning campaign from road to market, DCP Rajendra Prasad Meena himself took command

New Delhi: Delhi Police, which handles law and order by wearing uniform, was seen in a different style on Friday. Instead of a stick, he had a broom in his hand and the purpose was to give the message of cleanliness to Anand Vihar. Under the call of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for cleanliness campaign, in the series of cleanliness programs going on across the country, the police of Shahdara district conducted a special cleanliness campaign in the market located in Anand Vihar police station area.

Shahdara district Deputy Commissioner of Police Rajendra Prasad Meena started the campaign by cleaning himself. Seeing the broom in the hand of DCP, the policemen also took part in the cleaning campaign with full enthusiasm. Within no time, police officers and soldiers started cleaning the market. During the campaign, people were also made aware about cleanliness in the market and surrounding areas.

On this occasion, Vivek Vihar's Assistant Police Commissioner Pawan Kumar, Anand Vihar police station in-charge Manish Kumar and other police officers and employees were present. Along with cleanliness, the policemen also motivated the common people not to litter around and to keep public places clean.

'Cleanliness is not a one day campaign'

DCP Rajendra Prasad Meena said that the objective of running the cleanliness campaign in the market of Anand Vihar police station area is not only for cleanliness but also to create a sense of responsibility towards cleanliness among the people. He said that cleanliness should not be limited to any one day or special campaign. Cleaning of houses, markets, roads and public places should be done regularly throughout the year.

He appealed to the local people to maintain cleanliness around them, throw garbage at the designated place and inspire others for cleanliness. The message of the police was clear that clean roads and clean markets are not only the responsibility of the administration, but are the shared responsibility of every person in the society.
