Monsoon is now rapidly moving towards its last stop in Uttar Pradesh. On one hand, the sound of clouds' departure has started in the middle of September, on the other hand, due to the weather system and moisture being formed at the local level, a dual form of weather is being seen in the entire state.
Condition of major cities and IMD's estimate
In major cities like Lucknow, Kanpur, Varanasi, Meerut, Prayagraj and Gorakhpur, people are sometimes getting relief from sudden gathering clouds and strong winds, and sometimes as soon as the sun comes out, they are suffering from heavy sticky humidity due to the humidity reaching 80 to 90 percent. According to the Lucknow Center of the India Meteorological Department (IMD), sporadic rain and thundershowers may continue in different parts of the state for the next two to three days, after which the monsoon will gradually begin to disappear completely.
Clouds will rain in Terai, Purvanchal and Vindhya region
According to the forecast of the Meteorological Department, due to the influence of the moist winds coming from the Bay of Bengal and the effect of the trough line, rainfall activities are likely to be more active in eastern Uttar Pradesh and the Terai districts adjacent to Nepal. There are chances of light to moderate showers with movement of dense clouds in the areas of Lakhimpur Kheri, Bahraich, Shravasti, Balrampur, Siddharthnagar and Maharajganj of Terai belt. Similarly, intermittent rain with thunder and lightning can be seen in the areas around Gorakhpur, Deoria, Kushinagar, Mau, Ballia, Ghazipur, Azamgarh, Jaunpur and Varanasi in Purvanchal. Apart from this, due to the formation of local thunderstorm in the plateau areas of Sonbhadra, Mirzapur and Chandauli of Vindhya region, there is a possibility of heavy rain with strong winds for some time, due to which the temperature will drop by two to three degrees.
Sultry heat will haunt Western UP and Bundelkhand
Unlike eastern UP, rainfall intensity is expected to be much less over western Uttar Pradesh and most parts of Bundelkhand. Due to increase in westerly dryness in the air and separation of clouds, strong sunlight will trouble people in these areas. In Ghaziabad, Noida, Meerut, Hapur, Bulandshahr, Aligarh, Mathura and Agra of Delhi-NCR and West UP, the sky will be clear or partly cloudy throughout the day and the maximum temperature is being recorded between 34 to 36 degrees Celsius. The weather will remain almost dry in Jhansi, Banda, Hamirpur, Mahoba, Jalaun and Lalitpur of Bundelkhand region, where discomfort will increase as the day temperature crosses 35 degrees. There will be mixed weather in the capital Lucknow, Kanpur and surrounding Awadh areas, where after afternoon sunshine, there may be sudden heavy showers at some places in the evening.
When will monsoon disappear completely?
According to meteorologists, monsoon winds start retreating from northwest India by the end of the third week of September. After September 20, the weather is likely to become completely dry in western Uttar Pradesh and between September 22 and 25, monsoon may withdraw from entire Uttar Pradesh. As soon as the monsoon returns, north-westerly winds will start, which will cause a drop in night and early morning temperatures and will pave the way for pink cold in the future.
Important warning for farmers and general public
In this farewell phase of monsoon, more incidents of lightning and sudden strong winds are seen. Farmers are advised to irrigate the paddy crop only after observing the weather patterns and keep the harvested crops safe. Also, to avoid viral fever and dehydration in the changing weather, drink enough water and take full care of your health.
