CM Dhami gave a gift of Rs 164 crore to Champawat: MRI facility started in the district hospital along with development projects.

Champawat. Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Monday gifted projects worth more than Rs 164 crore in the development and health sectors to Champawat district. Along with inaugurating and laying the foundation stone of various development schemes, he inaugurated the state-of-the-art MRI machine installed in the district hospital at a cost of about Rs 6 crore.

The Chief Minister inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of 17 development schemes worth Rs 123.79 crore. These include inauguration of eight completed projects costing Rs 27.79 crore and laying of foundation stone of nine new projects costing Rs 96 crore. Apart from this, the Jim Corbett Trail developed at a cost of Rs 3.50 crore was inaugurated and the foundation stone of the modern city center to be built in the Roadways Bus Station complex was also performed.

Dhami said that the multi-storey parking and shopping complex to be built at a cost of about Rs 62.33 crore will solve the parking problem of the city and will give a new impetus to local business. He reiterated that it is the government’s resolve to make Champawat a model district of Uttarakhand.

The Chief Minister said that work is going on at a fast pace on ambitious projects like Women’s Technology Park, Modern Library, Knowledge Centre, Open Gym, Agricultural College, Women’s Sports College and Modern Science Center in the district. He said that in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of ‘Development as well as Heritage’, Purnagiri Dham, Sharda Corridor, Golju Corridor and Maa Varahi Dham are being developed under the Manaskhand Mandir Mala Mission, which will boost religious tourism and local employment.

To strengthen the health services, a state-of-the-art MRI machine has been installed in the district hospital at a cost of about Rs 6 crore under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) with the help of ICICI Foundation for Inclusive Growth. The Chief Minister said that with this, lakhs of people of Champawat, Pithoragarh, Almora, Nainital and surrounding border areas will not have to go to big cities for MRI examination.

He informed that work is going on on health projects worth more than Rs 40 crore in the district. A 50-bed modern critical care block is being constructed in the district hospital at a cost of about Rs 20 crore, while the construction of a diagnostic wing, operation theater and parking at a cost of Rs 11.71 crore is also in progress. The construction of Amodi Primary Health Center has been completed and the process of establishment of Paramedical College is also progressing rapidly.

The Chief Minister said that through Ayushman Bharat and Atal Ayushman Uttarakhand Yojana, free and cashless treatment is being provided to economically weaker families. During the program, he interacted with priests, paramilitary forces, public representatives, businessmen, women from self-help groups, teachers, entrepreneurs, taxi unions, bank employees, advocates and media representatives and heard their problems and suggestions.

At the end of the tour, the Chief Minister also inaugurated the Atlas Power House Gym located at Khatkana Bridge. District Panchayat President Anand Singh Adhikari, District Magistrate Manish Kumar, Superintendent of Police Rekha Yadav, Chief Development Officer Dr. G.S. were present in the program. Many public representatives, officials and a large number of local citizens including Khati were present.
